My name is Chauntel Delgado, and I like to see myself as the “girl next door”, an all around “American Girl”. My journey began, not too long ago, but one thing that I realized is although the world is full of differences, the more we cross cultures and welcome each-other’s diverse paths we realize when it comes down to what matters, we are more of the same.
Unfortunately for my parents, I was talking before I was walking. The beauty of this is it never stopped. I talked myself right into some amazing experiences. A double BA (psychology, communications: broadcast journalism) from Cal State Fullerton, and an MA (Industrial Organizational Psychology) from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Not to mention a slew of leadership positions from high school into college. And 4 internships to be exact: KTLA 5 News (Entertainment), E! Entertainment (Specials), NBCUniversal (Training and Organizational Development), and F.A.C.E.S. (Counseling Services).
5 years ago, I become a Life Coach, giving advice on everything life had to offer, on my youtube channel “Ask Chauntel” which currently has over 420,000 views and over 2,300 subscribers. I also hosted a radio show this past summer where I covered topics surrounding growing personally, romantically, and professionally. One of those topics was teen bullying.
Once I began answering questions from viewers dealing with their life issues. I noted very quickly that I was drawing a younger audience, the age group of 14 to 17 was writing the most, and some of them had real issues. Here is where you come in.
I am a motivational speaker, and I want to come meet with your group of students. Why? Because I care. I respond to teens weekly who are experiencing domestic violence and causing harm to their own bodies. Did you know that the leading cause of death in 15 to 24 year olds is suicide? It is a statistic that I hate to relay, but we need to do something about it.
Life is about choices. If we can get our kids to understand that they need to make the choice to stay on the right path. I think we might have a chance at changing the world for a better tomorrow. I want to share my story with your community. Lets connect!
